A few weeks after Christmas 2010, our youth group took on the challenge of building a well for a group of people less fortunate than ourselves. Due to our belief that Jesus wants us to help as many people as we can, our youth group is taking on the task of raising $5,000 of our own money to help provide the most basic necessity for life to a poverty-stricken village.
Charity:Water, a non-profit organization that builds wells for third-world countries says, "Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of diseases and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Children are especially vulnerable, as their bodies aren't strong enough to fight diarrhea, dysentery and other illnesses."
To us, this is unacceptable. No one should have to suffer because they do not have clean drinking water.
We hope that you will join us in this effort to raise $5,000 so that our group can sponsor a well that Charity:Water will build. 100% of all proceeds will go toward the well.
